Semi-Aseptic installation at Carlsberg
Objective:
To change the product´s filling process from hot to cold filling.
Benefits:
Lower energy costs
Lower packaging material costs
The product needs fewer preservatives = Better taste
Less environmental impact
Goals:
To improve the hygiene level of bottling
To reduce the total number of bacteria as CFU/m3 (active air sampling)
To reduce the cost of packaging material
Results:
Effective semi-aseptic bottling hygiene 24/7
Hygiene now at a level equivalent to CMP-class B
< 10 CFU/m3 micro-organisms ( active air sampling)
Improved working environment
Higher machine efficiency
Reduced packaging material cost by 50 %
Cost:
5-10 % compared with an investment in an aseptic line

1. Superstructure
Ceilings and door cornices. Prevent contaminated air from entering the bottling machine.

2. UVC Light
UVC lighting of critical areas during the production process, done by IP68-classed and BRC-approved UVC lighting modules.

3. Hand disinfection
Mandatory hand disinfection before machine doors can be opened.

4. Clean-air unit
Clean, filtered and particle-free air with added oxygen ions. Supplied throughout the superstructure, creating an overpressure at the same time as it provides active disinfection.

5.Water control unit
A generator produces environmentally-friendly cleaning and disinfection agents. These are sprayed on critical areas during the production process. The agents are also added to the process water and are used for shoe and floor disinfection.

6. Footbaths and floor disinfection
With disinfectant water. Prevents the transfer of dirt from shoes and hand truck wheels to the bottling machine and surrounding areas.
